Sifu Wayne Risner has dedicated many years practicing and teaching the Martial Arts. Working as a full-time instructor in Northern California for over 6 years, he accumulated well over 9,000 hours of classroom teaching experience. He has worked with many law enforcement personnel and taught security principles to local casinos. He has worked with the Idaho State Correctional Institute as an active member of their S.W.A.T. team. It is through this training and experience that Sifu was given the opportunity to research for himself what is useful and functional in a real combat situation, and what is just going to get you into more trouble.
Sifu Risner’s philosophy is similar to that of Bruce Lee: “use what will work for you and reject that which is useless.” Risner believes in training to your strengths, and helping you develop a set of tools that will work for you. After all, it is not a specific technique that will save you in a street-fight, it is your trained reaction in a given scenario. Recognizing openings and weaknesses of your opponent is a huge part of being able to counter with many of the techniques that you will learn in your training. Doing something is always better than doing nothing.
